There are many ways to do chicken. But raising chickens also has some taboos. Let’s take a look at the taboos of raising chickens.
1.The plateau is not suitable for raising broilers. Oxygen at the plateau is low, which cannot meet the needs of broiler chickens for oxygen and heat, aggravating the burden on the heart and lungs, and easily causing ascites.
2. Do not induce labor prematurely. Many farmers ignore the growth cycle and egg-laying cycle of chickens, blindly add feed, shorten the egg-laying cycle, and continue to lay eggs, which makes the chickens prematurely senescent and reduces the quality of egg-laying.
3. Laying hens should not be fed raw bone meal. The raw bone meal is not treated with high pressure, and the bone meal and bone glue are connected together. If the chicken is fed for a long time, it will cause the imbalance of calcium and phosphorus ratio, which will lead to the decline of chicken productivity.
4. Earthworms should not be fed directly to chickens. Earthworms are high-protein feed, but they should not be fed directly to chickens, because there are intermediate hosts such as Heterospinus nematodes in earthworms, which can easily cause parasitic diseases. Earthworms can be processed into earthworm powder for feeding.
5. Do not use red light in the chicken coop. Red light will inhibit the growth of chicks and young chickens, delay their sexual maturity, and lead to late start of production; red light will also inhibit the sexual function of roosters and reduce the fertilization rate of eggs.
6. Keepers should not change their coats frequently. The breeder insists on wearing a certain color of clothing, which will make the chicken feel friendly. As soon as the breeder enters the chicken house, the chicken can be invigorated, the appetite is enhanced, and the feed intake is increased. If the breeder’s clothing color is changed frequently, the flock will show panic, agitation, loss of appetite, and reduced feed intake. In addition, try not to allow outsiders to enter the chicken coop. When the above symptoms appear, stress spirit should be used in time to improve the chicken’s ability to resist stress.
7. Do not feed raw eggshells with calcium supplementation.
Some farmers are accustomed to feeding chickens with raw egg shells in order to supplement calcium for chickens to promote production and egg production. As everyone knows, the effect is exactly the opposite. Because bacteria and viruses are often attached to the inside and outside of the eggshell, chickens are prone to gastrointestinal diseases or infectious diseases after eating. When eggs and poultry need to be supplemented, multivitamins with more balanced nutritional elements, such as V21 multivitamins, should be used.
8. Avoid vaccination during peak egg production. When the chickens enter the peak egg production period, if the chickens are injected with vaccines or bacterins, the normal physiological laws of the chickens will be disrupted and egg production will be reduced. Furthermore, chickens can suffer from stress syndrome from being frightened, resulting in decreased appetite and reduced egg production. Therefore, it is best to vaccinate chickens before the start of production or after the production is stopped.
9. Trichlorfon is prohibited for deworming. Trichlorfon is a broad-spectrum veterinary anthelmintic, which is safe and effective for large livestock such as pigs, cattle, and sheep, and should be banned for chickens. The reason is: Trichlorfon is an organophosphorus drug, and the chicken crop is mostly an alkaline environment. Trichlorfon can generate dichlorvos in an alkaline environment, and its virulence is more than 10 times stronger than that of trichlorfon, which can easily lead to poisoning.
10. Disinfectants are prohibited during the immunization period. Some chicken farmers use disinfectants as drinking water and ingredients during the immunization period, resulting in failure of the immunization. Therefore, disinfectants should be discontinued 2 days before and after immunization of chickens.
